| Robert Soloway is a prolific spammer. His specialty is scanning through registries for contact email addresses, and accumulating them into a huge mailer database.
He then sends spam out to this database of millions, offering to sell them the database itself! He wants his victims to become his customers. Despite his prosecution, $10 million fine, and a court injunction against further spamming, the spam operation continued until mid 2008 when he was arrested, convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for nearly 4 years. In June 2007, Robert Alan Soloway is scheduled for his initial appearance in a U.S. District Court in Seattle on 13 counts of money laundering, 10 counts of mail fraud, five counts of wire fraud, five counts of aggravated identity theft and two counts of fraud in connection with electronic mail.

| The image depicts the order form page, and the rates charged for generating spam - up to 20 million for $279. A spamming run of this size spreads over 15 days.
The ordering page proudly proclaims that it is using a Complete Secure Online Order Form. However, the page is rendered under non-secure http, not secure https.
The option to opt out of further spamming has been shown to be purely cosmetic. The underlying code behind that web page ignores anything entered. |
